In a statement released in Jakarta on Tuesday, the ministry said the recovery of COVID-19 patients has been added to the list of accumulated recovered cases nationally.
The total number of recovered patients stands at 6,593,639 since the first case was discovered on March 2, 2020.
Looking at the daily reports, Jakarta Province ranks the highest in terms of recovered cases, with a total of 392 people, followed by East Java, with 195 people, and Central Java, with 93 people.
The ministry collected 13,842 specimens, with 1,167 positive cases recorded.
Thus, the number of accumulated positive COVID-19 patients was recorded at 6,765,727.
Furthermore, as of April 25, the number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients for the first dose was recorded at 203.83 million, 174.87 million people for the second dose, 68.73 million for the third dose, and 3.14 million people for the fourth dose.
At the end of 2022, the central government revoked the policy on community activity restriction (PPKM).
Currently, Indonesia is currently entering a transitional period in handling COVID-19, and the government is encouraging the distribution of booster vaccination to increase the people's immunity.
The Ministry of Health has appealed to the public to continue wearing masks and implement healthy living behavior to prevent a potential spike in COVID-19 cases, especially in the vulnerable group of people, particularly the elderly and people with comorbidities.
This becomes especially important, since the highly contagious Arcturus or XBB 1.16 sub-variant has emerged, making it necessary for people to tighten health protocols in order to avoid transmission of the new coronavirus variant.
