Jakarta (ANTARA) - Heads of state of ASEAN member countries are scheduled to discuss the draft of the ASEAN Post-2025 Vision towards ASEAN 2045 at the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

Quoting a press release issued by the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry on Friday, the ASEAN Post-2025 Vision towards ASEAN 2045 is currently being drafted by the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV) before being discussed at the summit.

The international event will take place in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, on May 9-11, 2023.

During the summit, the heads of state are scheduled to hold a meeting with the HLTF-ACV on May 10 to offer varied directives and insights, so that the ASEAN Post-2025 Vision can be an adaptive, visionary, comprehensive, firm, strategic, and inclusive vision.

The state leaders are also expected to agree on the ASEAN Leaders' Statement on the Development of the ASEAN Community's Post-2025 Vision at the 42nd Summit.

Later, the draft of the ASEAN Post-2025 Vision will be presented to the ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC) during its meeting that is planned to be held in September 2023 to get the council’s in-principle endorsement.

The draft of the vision is expected to be ratified in 2025.

Indonesia is holding the chairmanship of ASEAN 2023 from January 1 to December 31, raising the theme of “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth."

The tagline of ‘ASEAN Matters’ highlights attempts to strengthen the capacity, effectiveness, unity, as well as centrality of ASEAN.

Meanwhile, through the tagline of ‘Epicentrum of Growth,’ Indonesia seeks to bolster health architecture, energy security, food security, and financial stability in the region.

The National Police plans to deploy 2,627 personnel to secure the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, comprising 947 officers from the National Police’s headquarters, 1,660 officers from the NTT Regional Police, and 20 officers from the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police.

During its chairmanship, Indonesia will also host the 43rd ASEAN Summit that is scheduled to be held in Jakarta in September 2023.
