"The first step is developing green technology and encouraging the use of renewable energy," ministry's official, Lt. Gen. (ret.) Sudirman stated when contacted here on Sunday.
The second step entails intensifying the campaign on the importance of preserving the environment through education and dissemination of information to the public.
Intensive dissemination of information and education is expected to help increase people's awareness and understanding of the importance of maintaining and preserving the environment.
The third equally important step encompasses improving the active involvement of all people in the efforts to preserve the environment and make it part of the society's culture and lifestyle.
In addition, rehabilitation of regions affected by the impact of environmental pollution and destruction should be prioritized.
"The ministry also encourages strengthening cooperation, synergy, and collaboration between related institutions in the efforts to prevent, mitigate, and recover from environmental pollution and destruction," he stated.
The ministry also underscores the importance of maintaining and preserving the environment.
"Ministry urged all parties, including related institutions and the public, to collectively maintain and preserve the environment," Sudirman stated.
The effort aims to prevent environmental pollution which, in the long-term, will cause disaster.
"Thus, the ministry requests all parties to strengthen the effort to prevent, mitigate, and recover from environmental pollution and destruction," he stated.
According to Sudirman, strengthening the efforts to prevent, mitigate, and recover from environmental pollution and destruction has become increasingly important.
"This is done to maintain the survival of humans and other living beings as well as to maintain the balance of the ecosystem," he explained.
