Prabowo also commended the workers for conveying their demands peacefully and the police for realizing safe and orderly demonstrations.
"Continue your fight for the workers' interests, organize (your actions) orderly and peacefully," Prabowo noted as per the statement received here on Monday (May 1).
Safe and peaceful conditions will be favorable to investments that can help increase Indonesia's economic development, he remarked.
"Maintain our investment climate to ensure Indonesia remains friendly for investment, and investors will flock to enter and open new spaces to improve workers' welfare," the general stated.
The police chief also reminded labor groups to not be provoked by sinister groups seeking to pose a hindrance to their fight while adding that the police is ready to ensure the labor groups' safety at any time.

Meanwhile, Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) President Said Iqbal commended the police chief and officers for optimally and humanely protecting workers who demonstrated on May Day.
"I wish to express gratitude to the Police Headquarters, the national police chief, the Greater Jakarta Police and its chief, as well as other officers in the Police Headquarters and regional police forces, who have provided security and performed good coordination on site," Iqbal stated.
In concert with Iqbal, President of the Confederation of All-Indonesian Trade Union (KSPSI) Andi Gani Nena Wea remarked that security assurance from the police allowed workers to deliver their demands in the demonstrations in a safe and conducive manner.
"We thank you. We must continue uniting and synergizing (with each other). The police and the workers must unite to become stronger. Long live the Indonesian workers," Nena Wea stated.
