Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Greater Jakarta Police and Lampung Police intensified coordination on Tuesday in investigating the shooting incident at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) headquarters in Jakarta.

The shooter was a 60-year-old man identified by the police as having the initial M in his name. His ID card showed Lampung as his domicile.

"We have dispatched a team that will continue coordinating with the Lampung Police, and we will analyze every data we obtain and coordinate it with the Lampung Police,” said Senior Commissioner Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, head of the Greater Jakarta Police's public relations department.

He informed that Jakarta Police and Lampung Police are conducting parallel investigations in their respective jurisdictions, and the main motive of the attack will be deduced from the findings of the two probes.

At present, the Jakarta Police is still waiting for the autopsy report of the suspect, who died in the incident, and the forensic analysis of evidence obtained from the suspect at the crime scene.

The Lampung Police has also summoned the suspect's family in Lampung for questioning.

Andiko said that he would prefer not to speculate about the preliminary investigation result, affirming that the police would announce the findings once the investigation is complete.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Police's director of general crime investigation, Senior Commissioner Hengki Haryadi, said the police would wait for the complete report to determine the cause of the suspect's death.

The suspect, who was found unconscious following the shooting, was taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital. However, he was declared dead upon arrival.

"We are not concluding (the suspect's cause of death) yet. Once again, we have no conclusion yet," Haryadi said at a press conference at Menteng Police Office on Tuesday.

He also informed that the suspect was not a part of any terror group or a lone actor who commits acts of terror under the influence of extreme ideologies.
