Labuan Bajo (ANTARA) - The 42nd ASEAN Summit's main venue, Meruorah Hotel, located in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), will serve local products in the delegates' rooms, Chief Director of state-owned hotel operator PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN) Christine Hutabarat said.

"We exclusively prepare the designated rooms for the delegates by serving local products, including exclusive locally-produced amenities," she noted in an official statement received in Labuan Bajo, Thursday.

Meruorah Hotel is a state-owned hotel and is managed by HIN through the PT Hotel Indonesia Group (HIG).

To provide a high level of comfort for the delegates, Meruorah Hotel will also serve several additional trinkets in each room, such as typical NTT woven fabrics, rattan ornaments, fresh flowers, and mini bars.

"Hopefully, the delegates will have a unique experience with Indonesian typical hospitality," she stated.

Regarding preparations for the ASEAN Summit, HIG has prepared a special strategy to ensure that the hotel is ready to provide its finest services that meet the delegates' standards and expectations.

Furthermore, HIG has scouted reliable professionals, both from within the internal staff members of Meruorah Hotel and from external sources, to cater to the needs of delegates.

All professional staff members have undergone a special training program to ensure better services for the upcoming ASEAN Summit. They will also wear new uniforms that will represent Labuan Bajo's culture and local uniqueness.

During the summit, Meruorah Hotel will present various menus of foods and beverages that will be served by involving local micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), trusted suppliers for food raw ingredients, and other experienced parties.

The director confirmed that the hotel management had been working in collaboration with local stakeholders to encourage fishermen to adjust their fishing routes during the ASEAN Summit, so that the event runs smoothly.

"This is a priceless opportunity for Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, to play its part as the summit's main venue. We are committed to providing the finest services and to supporting the smooth running of the 42nd ASEAN Summit," she stressed.

Meruorah Hotel in Labuan Bajo will serve as the summit's main venue, by holding a series of Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) events and accommodating the needs of the delegates.

The hotel that is situated in the Labuan Bajo Integrated Marina Area offers panoramic views of pinisi boats, natural hills, and gorgeous sea. It has 145 rooms and various facilities, including a convention center, with a capacity to accommodate one thousand people.
