The 29th ASCC meetings in Nusa Dua, Bali, will be held on May 7-8, 2022.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture's Special Staff Joko Kusnanto Anggoro, during a press briefing here, Saturday (May 6), noted that four documents are discussed in the meetings.
The first is the ASEAN Leaders Declaration on One Health Initiative, which is intended to mainstream the One Health (human, animal and environment health integration) approach into the national and regional health system.
It is aimed to improve prevention and response toward potential health risks.
"This One Health Initiative is important because of past experience related to the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
The second document is the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection of Migrant Workers and Family Members in Crisis Situations.
The document emphasizes ASEAN's commitment to protect and strengthen migrant workers' resilience during crises.
The third document is the ASEAN Declaration on the Placement and Protection of Migrant Fishers, which encourages regional cooperation to ensure prosperity and safe working conditions for migrant fishers.
The fourth document is the ASEAN Leaders' Statement on the Establishment of the ASEAN Village Network that is intended to expedite village development through the formation of the ASEAN village network.
"These four documents will be brought to the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo on May 10-11, 2023," Anggoro said.
Through the four documents, he said, ASEAN can strengthen and improve the capacity and readiness to maintain stability and ensure the prosperity of ASEAN as the center of growth in the Indo-Pacific.
