This is what we push to be developed in all of Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry is prioritizing providing logistical solutions to the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under its guidance to improve the reach and class of the MSMEs.

Logistical solutions have become important because logistical access is not yet equal and it is costly in a number of regions, the Director General of Applications and Informatics at the ministry, Semuel A. Pangerapan, said here on Monday.

Wanting good MSME products and good finance is impossible without logistics, he explained during the “MSMEs Level Up 2023” press conference.

"This is what we push to be developed in all of Indonesia," he added.

Based on the findings of the ministry's team, the cost of logistics is higher compared to the cost of products offered by MSMEs, thus it often reduces people's interest in purchasing MSME products.

Thus, this year, the ministry will not only focus on encouraging MSMEs to use digital services, but also help them seek optimal logistical solutions.

The problem will lie in figuring out how this business development can truly provide services to all Indonesians and make them affordable, Pangerapan highlighted.

This is so that the exchange of goods from one region to another can be conducted successfully and all businesspersons can get access to benefits, he explained.

For this year, the ministry has organized a guidance program for MSMEs named "MSMEs Level Up" by collaborating with several parties.

These include state-owned logistics enterprise PT Pos Indonesia as well as the Cooperatives and the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministry.

In addition to providing education on using digital services to raise sales, “MSMEs Level Up 2023” will also offer a business incubation program, which is expected to strengthen and broaden market opportunities for MSMEs.
