According to a written statement received here on Friday, the development programs highlights the ministry's commitment in pushing for gender equality, disability, and social inclusion mainstreaming, she pointed out.
At the virtual meeting, the minister highlighted the government's intent to leave no one behind in its measures to pursue those goals.
She opined that intervention in developmental progress must be conducted by taking into account contexts and conditions of the beneficiaries.
"By doing so, the intervention can be done more effectively, thereby pushing for a transformative change for poor women, people with disabilities, and marginalized people," she remarked.
One of the programs aimed at improving economic independence of poor people are the National Economic Hero (PENA) program, Rismaharini stated.
Some 70 percent of the beneficiaries of that program are women, including those with disabilities, she added.
"This program aims for not only expediting access of women to economic resources but also improve their access to financial services and other productive assets," Minister Rismaharini elaborated.
The program also offers some coaching as well as provides information about the market, both of which aid the beneficiaries in redefining their positions and contributing to the private and public scope.
"This program also acknowledges women's contribution to sustainable growth and development," she noted.
Rismaharini affirmed that Indonesia is committed to protecting vulnerable people -- children, parents, and people with disability -- in times of emergency by providing adaptive social assistance.
They also apply the values of gender equality, disability, and social inclusion mainstreaming in disaster risk mitigation efforts that include prevention, preparation, response, and recovery, so as to induce better response and a more inclusive recovery, she pointed out.
The government, through the Social Affairs Ministry, ensure that they have the right spirit to pursue regional efforts to protect vulnerable people, especially people with disabilities in the ASEAN, she said.
