It is one of the responsibilities of PPIH in Saudi Arabia to maintain and ensure that the pilgrims’ belongings are not scattered and lost.Medina, Saudi Arabia (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hajj pilgrimage organizing committee (PPIH) has readied a truck to transport pilgrims' belongings, such as suitcases, bags, or other items, in case they are left at the lodgings in Medina.
"It is one of the responsibilities of PPIH in Saudi Arabia to maintain and ensure that the pilgrims’ belongings are not scattered and lost," Head of the Medina Working Area PPIH Zaenal Muttaqin stated here on Thursday.
By implementing the service, pilgrims are expected to not harbor concerns if their belongings are left at the hotels, he stated.
"Praise be to God, today (on Thursday), after the Zuhr prayer, the pilgrims will begin to depart for Mecca. Leaving the hotel, they will have worn their ihram clothes (clothes used for Hajj pilgrimage)," he stated.
Several Hajj pilgrims from five flight groups would conduct the miqat, or the start of performing Hajj rituals, at the Dhu al-Hulayfah Mosque in Medina and headed to Mecca to perform the mandatory umrah while waiting for the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage season.
The peak of the pilgrimage season will be observed on the 9th and 10th of Dhu al-Hijja 1444 Hijri, which is estimated to fall on June 28-29, 2023.
The five flight groups came from Group 1 of Jakarta Embarkation, reaching 393 pilgrims; Group 1 of Solo Embarkation, totaling 360 pilgrims; Group 1 of Makassar Embarkation, 393 pilgrims; Group 1 of Aceh Embarkation, 393 pilgrims; and Group 1 of Medan Embarkation, 370 pilgrims.
"Have a safe trip to Mecca. We hope that the journey will be smooth, and we will be ready to carry out the pilgrimage rituals," Muttaqin remarked.
Earlier, Head of the Mecca Working Area PPIH Khalilurrahman ensured accommodation services prepared by his side, which include 108 hotels across 11 sectors in Mecca, had been ready to serve Indonesian pilgrims.
He said that the accommodation is elderly-friendly, as his side has provided various facilities, such as handrail and chair in each bathroom as well as a laundry room to facilitate the activities of elderly pilgrims.
