"Pancasila defines the identity of Indonesia as a nation. Therefore, Pancasila serves as not only the foundation of the state but also the defining characteristic of our human resources," the minister stated in a statement received here on Saturday.
She made these remarks during the inauguration of Rini Sugiarti as a Professor of Psychology at Semarang University (USM).
Sugiarti delivered scientific speech titled "Implementation of Character Building: Paradigm of Human Resources Development in Facing Global Competition."
Minister Fauziyah emphasized that the government prioritizes human resource development in its work programs to nurture highly skilled human resources.
She outlined several characteristics of exceptional human resources, starting with technical competence and the ability to adapt to changing times.
The second characteristic is having strong moral values such as honesty, commitment, collaboration, and responsibility, she added.
Fauziyah also emphasized the importance of maintaining good mental and physical health for human resources.
"In the Indonesian context, developing human resources with these positive characteristics cannot be separated from our state and national philosophy, Pancasila," she explained.
The minister congratulated Sugiarti on her appointment as a professor at the university.
"Her achievement fills us women with pride," she said.
She also commended Semarang University for providing opportunities for women to contribute and advance within the institution, evident by the fact that five out of the total eight professors are women.
"To all women: the state provides opportunities through constitutions and laws to enable women to take on roles beyond domestic ones," Fauziyah added.
