Jakarta (ANTARA) - Secretary to the Directorate General of Village Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Paudah has urged all village governments in Indonesia to improve the quality of village spending.

She said it would be better to utilize village funds for efforts that contribute to reducing poverty in rural areas and optimize rural development.

"Which in the end is able to contribute to rural poverty reduction and rural development," Paudah added at the "Evaluation and Follow-Up of Cross-Component Financial Accountability Project Implementing Unit (PIU) Strengthening Village Governance and Development Program (P3PD)" here on Friday.

She said that to improve the quality of village spending, the Directorate General of Village Administration held the P3PD event to strengthen the capacity of village institutions.

With strong capacity, village apparatus can improve the quality of village spending, she added.

Quality village spending, she said, is expenditure that fits the needs of the village community.

In addition, village spending must also increase the quantity or quality of health, education, and income to enable it to provide welfare.

Paudah also asked all related parties to coordinate consistently to ensure the smooth running of the program, such as the achievement of all P3D program objectives.

"Therefore, I hope that all parties involved in the implementation of the P3PD can support the intended achievement and coordinate with each other to achieve the (targets of the) program," she said.
