Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan provincial government continues to enhance the province's readiness to host the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Culture Activity (OICCA) scheduled to be held in the second week of July 2023.

"We have reached 90 percent readiness in terms of activity planning. The remaining 10 percent concerns efforts to integrate the activities, as we still need to discuss several additional events," East Kalimantan Regional Secretary Sri Wahyuni noted in Samarinda on Saturday.

She remarked that the international-level event will take place from July 7-14, 2023, with approximately 56 delegates from countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), including Indonesia.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo, and East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor will attend the inauguration of the international-level activity.

The provincial government is focusing on holding the OICCA in regions such as Balikpapan, Samarinda, and Kutai Kartanegara, as well as at the location identified for the development of the new capital city Nusantara (IKN).

In addition to East Kalimantan, the international event will also be held in Jakarta.

Wahyuni said the provincial government continues to maintain coordination with local committees, as well as leaders from various institutions and organizations, to ensure the readiness of venues for the OICCA.

She urged all committees and field officers to intensify coordination as the event's D-day draws near.

"Hopefully, in the next meeting, the committees will be more productive so that we can make further progress and resolve a number of issues," Wahyuni stated.

During the OICCA in East Kalimantan, the participants will visit several universities to take part in symposiums and dialogues on religious moderation, the creative economy, and the digital world.

Furthermore, the participants will visit the province's iconic places, such as Pampang Dayak Village in Samarinda, Tenggarong International Folk Arts Festival, and Kaltim Fest, before concluding their activities by participating in a tree-planting activity in IKN.
