The most important thing is awareness of digital content creators about the importance of maintaining our cultureJakarta (ANTARA) - The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry is collaborating with South Korea's Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ministry to develop the Rumah Indonesiana (Indonesian House) program.
The Rumah Indonesiana program aims to develop digital content creation skills, and will later include a creative incubation center for content creators that incorporates local wisdom.
"With the opportunity of collaboration with South Korea, we share with one another, both in technical capacity improvement, and the Koreans too can know more about Indonesian culture," Secretary of the Directorate General of Culture at the ministry Fitra Arda said.
The high potential of national content creators, coupled with Indonesian culture as a source of content, can become a priceless asset, he pointed out.
Hence, the government has partnered up with South Korea to improve technical capability, particularly in exploring the potential of culture-based digital content, he said.
Under the collaborative initiative concept, Indonesia has proposed six locations for the program's pilot—Jakarta, Sikka District, Jambi, Makassar, Bali, and Cirebon, he explained.
The Museum of National Awakening in Central Jakarta will serve as the pilot project location in Jakarta, he informed.
In Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara, regional government facilities will be utilized for the Rumah Indonesiana Program, Arda said.
Head of the Sikka Culture and Tourism Office, Petrus Poling Wairmahing, assured that the administration is ready to support the program, considering there are many creative youths who are facing issues in terms of access and supporting facilities.
"We are committed to making the Rumah Indonesiana program a success, and we are proud that the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry trusts Sikka district as one of the starting points for Rumah Indonesiana," he said.
Meanwhile, content creator and culture activist Frans Cornelis Dian Bunda said that he expects the program to serve as a public space that can be widely accessed by the people, thereby making it a community hub.
The regional government's participation in supporting cultural development efforts, particularly those pursued by youth, is vital, he added.
It is expected that the program will help local content creators improve their content quality and allow them to collaborate with others and expand their network, he said.
"The most important thing is awareness of digital content creators about the importance of maintaining our culture," he added.
