"Mediators have a crucial role to play in finding solutions to address every conflict of interest occurring between workers and business actors," she remarked while opening the coordination meeting of mediators of industrial relations in Jakarta on Monday.
Minister Fauziyah appealed to mediators to understand the views of parties voicing their aspirations.
In order to realize harmonious, dynamic, and just industrial relations, the minister emphasized the need to further enhance the competence of mediators.
"An enhancement of the quality and competence of industrial relations functional officials has become essential in the midst of today's worker dynamics and technological disruptions," Fauziyah noted.
The minister expressed belief that such a step was deemed crucial to provide positive impacts on the performance of industrial organizations at the central and regional levels.
Hence, the Manpower Ministry will formulate a policy to present an award to mediator functional officials that it considers to have delivered excellent performance, the minister remarked.
"The government will give rewards to mediator functional officials, who show an excellent performance," the minister remarked.
Earlier, on a separate occasion, Indah Anggoro Putri, Director General of Industrial Relations and Worker Social Assurance at the Manpower Ministry, urged the Industrial Relations Mediators Association (AMHI) to continue to work together with the ministry.
"I would like to urge AMHI to work in synergy with the Manpower Ministry, especially with its Directorate of Industrial Relations Mediator Development," she said while addressing AMHI during its national conference.
