"We started the program yesterday, Saturday (July 1). We urge the people to help by providing valid information when officers come to update their data," said Lina Widyastuti, BKKBN's Acting Director of Reporting and Statistics, in Jakarta.
She said the officers were deployed to 13,263 villages to update data, which is targeted to be completed by July 31, 2023.
The results of data updating from 15.5 million families will be used for the Family Development, Population, and Family Planning (Bangga Kencana) program, including the acceleration of stunting reduction and extreme poverty eradication.
Data updating was carried out by filling in forms manually and online with a smartphone, according to the mapping by the provincial government.
Widyastuti explained that family data updating is crucial in order to make family data and information available for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Bangga Kencana program and other development programs.
Data from PK-23 describes family micro data, including indicators of demography, family planning, family development, and families at risk of stunting.
Data updating comprises several processes, including collecting data of new families that are not yet recorded in the Indonesian Family Database (BDKI).
"The simultaneous update across Indonesia on July 1-31, 2023 is aimed at increasing data accuracy so that the government's intervention in stunting reduction and extreme poverty eradication acceleration can be right on target," she said.
BKKBN Head Hasto Wardoyo earlier reminded that the data officers must ensure that the numbers of families recorded in local offices match the actual figures.
He said that data validity is of the utmost importance in the update program, because with valid data, existing problems can be clearly seen.
"Without valid data, stunting reduction and extreme poverty eradication programs will be unsuccessful," he added.
