Makassar (ANTARA) - Hasanuddin University (Unhas) and San Diego State University (SDSU) discussed inbound collaboration for the exchange of professors and students between the two institutions.

Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Jamaluddin Jompa MSc, through his statement in Makassar, Wednesday, commended the involvement of students and lecturers in research collaboration carried out with the Forest Conservation Study Program, Faculty of Forestry of Unhas, and SDSU.

This is expected to become a research collaboration to expand the development of scientific fields.

Under this collaboration, the professor and student inbound program will organize activities again by bringing in as many as three teaching staffs, two Master's students, and three undergraduate students from SDSU, with a public lecture agenda and joint field studies.

The inbound collaboration between professors and students from Unhas and SDSU aims to increase student capacity in conducting research and writing scientific papers as well as to provide facilities for the exchange of experience and information between teaching staffs and students both from Unhas and SDSU.

Meanwhile, Head of the Forest Conservation Study Program, Faculty of Forestry of Unhas, Prof. Dr Ngakan Putu Oka MSc, in his introduction explained that through the Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism Laboratory, the Faculty of Forestry of Unhas, has long collaborated with the Department of Anthropology of SDSU.

The five-year MoU has been renewed at least thrice and dozens of joint publications have been produced and are part of supporting the achievement of Unhas' reputation.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed various potential research collaborations that would be developed with other scientific fields.
