"It has been consistently emphasized at this conference that teachers are the key figures in reinforcing, driving, and leading the efforts to strengthen lifelong learning programs," he said, referring to the International Inclusive Lifelong Learning Conference (ILLC) held in Bali on July 3-6, 2023.
Gunawan emphasized the importance of enhancing professional development opportunities for teachers to ensure lifelong learning.
Therefore, there is a need to develop programs that cater to the community's needs and skills in collaboration with teachers.
"This partnership is a collaborative approach to achieve our goals and ensure inclusive access to education for all," he noted.
He emphasized the community's responsibility to increase public investment in collective lifelong learning.
Additionally, he called for collective support from the community in data collection, processing, and dissemination in the field of education.
"This is essential to ensure that government policies align with expectations and achieve the jointly established targets," he affirmed.
Following the conference, UNESCO will ensure the wide dissemination of the messages and commitments made during the conference.
"Particularly, UNESCO will help disseminate the values of Indonesia's Pre-Employment Card Program to other countries that are currently developing similar programs," Gunawan stated.
