"We launch GadePreneur, as a platform for MSMEs to upgrade themselves," President Director of Pegadaian Damar Latri Setiawan remarked.
GadePreneur is open to Pegadaian customers, agents, business partners, and the public to learn entrepreneurship skills.
With the program, themed "MSMEs Grow Strong with Pegadaian," Setiawan stated that MSMEs can learn about financial literacy and product marketing.
"We build an ecosystem for (MSMEs) to market the products and get financing," he remarked.
Setiawan is optimistic that MSMEs can grow through GadePreneur.
Earlier, some 2,135 MSMEs had registered to participate in the program, though only 360 were selected. These 360 small business owners will be trained intensively from July to September 2023.
Setiawan is upbeat that the number of MSMEs that can participate in the program would increase.
"Pegadaian keeps upgrading MSMEs, so they can upgrade," he stated.
On the same occasion, Chief Executive functioning as Behavioral Supervisory of Financial Business, Education, and Consumer Protection at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi voiced her support for the GadePreneur Program.
According to Dewi, the program aligns with Law No. 4 of 2023 on financial sector development (UU P2SK).
"Easing financing access to MSMEs supports the government's efforts in expanding or realizing equal business access. OJK always supports the development of MSMEs," Dewi affirmed.
The State-owned Enterprises (SOEs/BUMN) Ministry's expert staff on finance and MSME development, Loto Srinaita Ginting, said her side supported the program.
"We work along with SOEs that have the (MSME) development ecosystem synergize with the MSME digital market, Sarinah, and through supply chain partnerships," she stated.
Graduated participants will be facilitated through ways, such as financing to obtain the Taxpayer Identification Number for Corporate (NPWP Badan), Intellectual Property Rights, and the license for operating home-scale industries.
