The ministry's Director General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education, Iwan Syahril, emphasized the importance of schools' awareness in implementing quality learning processes during the post-pandemic era.
He revealed that his ministry is targeting 50 elementary schools in West Java to implement the program, aiming to realize the goal of building a healthy and advanced generation by promoting a hygienic and healthy lifestyle.
"Bogor is one of the cities that will be intervened. The focus will be on how schools can become an environment that educates the habit of clean and healthy living," he said.
The program includes interactive modules and guidebooks on preparing healthy meals and processing waste. An evaluation test will be held in schools after six months of implementing the program.
The program also encourages the fulfillment of healthy nutrition and immunization for children.
Syahril said that the program is being conducted in collaboration with Danone Indonesia and IPB University, with the purpose of developing a healthy learning system for elementary school students.
"Last year, we established cooperation with several partners, including Danone. We are grateful that we can realize this in Bogor and Bandung," he added.
Some private parties previously supported health education programs in schools, such as the Ayo Tunjuk Tangan (Let's Show Hands) Movement in 2021.
"We hope that this collaboration will spark inspiration. Earlier, the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, had conveyed the importance of synergizing with various parties in educational transformation," he said.
According to him, the transformation of education includes conducting healthy lifestyle campaigns in schools.
"This is our common interest and joint effort to form healthy and smart Indonesian human resources who have a positive character," he added.
