Jakarta (ANTARA) - Japanese philanthropist Yuma Muranushi is looking to increase the potential of Indonesia's human resources (HR) by introducing them to the Japanese culture and education system.

"The Japanese method as a whole may not always be correct, but maybe if it is needed in certain parts, I will be happy to help," he said in a statement released in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, Indonesia is currently in the spotlight on account of its rapid development, so many Indonesian human resources have the potential to go abroad for work.

"I hope they can also come to Japan," he said.

Based on the average age, the Indonesian population is still young, and the size of the nation's population is several times that of Japan's population, he noted.

Therefore, Yuma, who is the founder of the Nippon Donation Foundation, said he hopes that the extraordinary young Indonesian energy will be used not only in Indonesia, but also for the benefit of the world.

He said this is because he believes that this energy will eventually return to Indonesia, so he would be pleased if there are more Indonesians who broaden their horizons and use this power for the benefit of the world.

"So far, with the help and support of many parties, we have provided support to schools in Bali, Surabaya, Madura, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Jember, and Bogor," he informed.

Earlier, the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) said that education is an important form of investment that can determine the nation's future.

"Education is a form of investment that determines the future of the nation and is a requirement for improving the quality and competitiveness of human resources," Director of Village and Rural Sociocultural and Environmental Development at the ministry Teguh Hadi said.

The ministry has launched quality village education as one of the Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he added.

To achieve this goal, the ministry is empowering village administrations to ensure the availability and affordability of quality education services for villagers and easy access for villagers to education services.
