The mentoring program for the 15 MSME players from Jakarta Greater area was carried out from February to August this year, the director of UI's Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, informed here on Wednesday.
The students helped entrepreneurs create financial reports using the Accurate App.
He said that their participation in the mentoring program enriched their experience and helped them make a real contribution to the community.
"I hope the mentoring program will give advantages to both our students and the micro, small, and medium enterprises," he said.
UI's Vocational Education Program will continue its community service efforts by involving teaching staff and students, Wicaksono added.
Head of UI's Community Services, Andhita Yukihana Rahmayanti, said during the mentoring program, fourth semester students regularly visited their designated MSMEs to provide training to entrepreneurs, enabling them to create credible financial reports for their businesses.
The students also guided the entrepreneurs to help them gain a better understanding of tax regulations, Rahmayanti added.
The students who participated in the mentoring program had a chance to explore business opportunities and new innovations that could be applied in micro, small, and medium businesses, she said.
