Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir has praised state-run PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), which has continued the public housing financing program for several segments ranging from low-income people, informal workers, and athletes.

"I hope BTN will continue to focus on financing people's housing, which is part of the government program to prosper the people. The One Million House Program is currently running well, and it is inseparable from BTN's significant role," the minister said in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Saturday.

The same day, he also witnessed a mass mortgage loan (KPR) and smallholder business credit (KUR) agreement event.

He said he expects BTN's optimization of public housing financing to continue so that the backlog of 12.7 million housing units can be reduced.

Meanwhile, President Director of Bank BTN Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said that the bank will continue to support the One Million House Program by continuing to finance housing.

"We have issued housing financing products for formal workers and informal workers and currently, we are collaborating with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to assist football players to own their dream homes," he informed.

He said BTN has conveyed the principles of KPR to PSSI so that it can help football players own a house.

Moreover, BTN is optimizing public housing financing under mass KPR and KUR agreement events for a total of 10 thousand housing units, including subsidized and non-subsidized mass mortgage loan (KPR), or sharia-financed housing.

"After the mass KPR agreement in Tigaraksa, Banten last month with 10 thousand units, we held another 10 thousand-unit simultaneous KPR agreement in Sidoarjo, East Java," he said.

Napitupulu informed that the mass agreement is a step to provide decent housing for all Indonesians.
