Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) said on Tuesday that it is ensuring reliable internet to support the operation of the Jakarta Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB), also known as "Whoosh".

Communication and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi said that his team is prepared to routinely monitor and facilitate digital connectivity along the high-speed railway.

"We conducted a trial with the telecommunications ecosystem (providers). Kominfo is tasked with supporting (internet) services, and we have observed that signals are available along the railway. We can use devices and frequencies to communicate," he informed at KCJB Halim Station in Jakarta.

He said that the presence of Whoosh in Indonesia shows the nation's technological leap and should be appreciated.

Therefore, as long as Whoosh is in operation, the ministry will ensure that reliable telecommunication technology is available to support the rail's operations.

"This is a technological leap in Indonesia's development. With this train being stable, the rail track smooth and the signal strong, our duty is to provide support," he added.

On Tuesday, Setiadi, along with Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria and other high-ranking Kominfo officials, took a round-trip on the Whoosh.

Follong the ride, Setiadi mentioned that telecommunications services along the Whoosh line encountered no issues and operated optimally.

"Everything went smoothly," he added.

Ismail, Kominfo's Director General of Resources Management and Equipment of Posts and Informatics, stated that the digital connectivity test along the Whoosh line included representatives from telecommunication service providers.

He added that the connectivity inspection demonstrated the ministry's commitment to preparing optimal internet services.

"We have prepared for this for two to three years, and thank God, we observed that no signal was interrupted," he said.
