Cirebon, West Java (ANTARA) - The management of Chakrabhuwana Airport in Cirebon, West Java, has informed that the airport will host the 2023 National Aero Festival from October 20–22, which will showcase small airplanes and the world of aviation.

Acting head of Chakrabhuwana Airport, M. Eddy Syafriadi, said here on Friday that the event is expected to have a positive impact on the region because not all third-class airports in Indonesia have the opportunity to become venues for national-level events.

"Many regions in Indonesia have a third-class airport, and Chakrabuana Airport in Cirebon has the opportunity to host this event," he added.

The implementation of the 2023 National Aero Festival, he said, is a chance for Chakrabhuwana Airport to become better known among the wider community, especially those living in big cities, such as Jakarta and its surroundings.

He noted that not many people know Cirebon has a small airport.

"The positive impact is: We will become more popular, especially among Jakartans. In the future, we hope to become a destination for aerospace tourism, which is an economic opportunity for Cirebon itself," he said.

Meanwhile, chief instructor of private pilot school PT Proflight Indonesia, Rifadianto, said that the National Aero Festival aims to introduce and promote the world of aviation to the public.

During the festival, visitors will get to witness several small planes that usually land at Chakrabhuwana Airport.

"We will present 20–25 small aircraft at the Aero Festival. There will be an aviation world exhibition and a fashion show of the uniforms worn by airport employees and pilots," he informed.

He said that the festival will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time, with an estimated 3 thousand to 5 thousand visitors expected to attend it.

A number of parties, such as flight and aviation school students, and representatives from aviation businesses, will take part in the festival.
