Jokowi made this statement after closing the Archipelagic and Island State (AIS) Forum Summit here on Wednesday.
"When many parties choose rivalry, Indonesia chooses to strengthen inclusive cooperation and collaboration with as many countries as possible," the president highlighted.
He emphasized that while several parties prefer to have lengthy discussions, Indonesia chooses concrete cooperation, so that the benefits can be felt directly by the people.
"This (Forum) is an initiative whose aim is to create a peaceful, prosperous, and stable Indo-Pacific region because what we want is to grow together, progress together, and prosper together," he explained.
In his speech, President Jokowi also stated that the AIS Forum Summit was one of Indonesia's commitments to cooperate at a higher level and is expected to become an international organization that can take concrete steps to handle regional and global issues.
In addition, the president expressed optimism that the forum would continue to voice the interests of developing and island countries.
The AIS Forum Summit agreed to prioritize the principles of solidarity, equality, and inclusiveness as a common basis for working together.
