"We support everything related to national electricity needs, but now, we are starting to shift to green energy," President Jokowi noted on the sidelines of a working visit to Indramayu here on Friday.
Jokowi made this statement in response to Japan's decision to stop funding the construction of the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) in Indramayu.
"All PLTUs must be super critical, and I think the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) knows all the standards," he remarked.
President Jokowi noted that the development of green energy currently being prioritized by Indonesia is the Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) and Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Cirata, Purwakarta, West Java.
"In West Java, there are quite large ones. We will inaugurate this in Cirata," President Jokowi noted.
Based on information from the website of the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the ESDM Ministry, the Cirata PLTA is projected to have a capacity of 1,008 MW, while the PLTS in the area is projected to have a capacity of 1 MWp.
Specifically for the Floating PLTS in Cirata, the plant was built through cooperation between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to supply electrical energy in Java to Bali.
Green energy, which is prioritized by President Jokowi, is electricity generated from wind and geothermal energy.
