"I would like to emphasize that the goal of the development of youth is to enhance the quality of the nation," he remarked during the Youth Pledge Day commemoration at the National Monument, Jakarta, on Saturday (October 28).
The minister noted that the spirit of cooperation and collaboration had become an inseparable part of the identity of the Indonesian nation.
Hence, he continued, Indonesian young men and women can be seen as the country's valuable assets for future development.
"By adopting sustainable development, we will be able to ensure the improvement of the life quality of the entire population," he pointed out.
He further remarked that in order to achieve the youth development goal, Indonesia is in need of a comprehensive and strategic framework design, often referred to as the Grand Design of National Youth by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ariotedjo also put emphasis on the importance of focusing on the creation of innovation to develop Indonesian young talents.
In this context, he said that innovation constitutes a crucial element that can ensure that Indonesian youths have access to relevant programs and opportunities, thereby allowing them to hone their skills in various fields, including academics, business, and social relations.
"The integration of innovation into youth development efforts can help us lay down a dynamic and responsive foundation to adapt to rapid and constant changes, while supporting youths to play a role as agents of positive changes," he elaborated.
He then stated that brave actions and concrete steps aimed at promoting the participation and representation of youths in national priority programs should be taken by taking development in regions into account.
Coordinated actions from all relevant parties are required to realize the goal, he stressed.
