"We take various steps to upgrade underdeveloped villages, including by increasing the (quality of) human resources," Iskandar stated during the commemoration of Regional Development Acceleration Day here on Friday (November 17) evening.
He explained that the government will expedite the construction of Wi-Fi network infrastructure, so that underdeveloped villages can access the internet better.
Some underdeveloped villages already have access to good Wi-Fi due to the PDTT Ministry's collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo).
Along with Kominfo, the PDTT Ministry provides reliable Wi-Fi network infrastructure in disadvantaged villages.
Iskandar said villages that already have access to Wi-Fi networks can operate digitally, thereby effectively improving the quality of human resources.
His side also has a network for training conducted by the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) and community training centers and regularly organizes interactive dialogues with residents in disadvantaged areas every week.
"This is one of the efforts to improve human resources in these underdeveloped villages," he explained.
In addition, he said, the direct presence of stakeholders in regions can help improve human resources.
The ministry also supports the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in villages.
"We hope that the PDTT Ministry's efforts can upgrade underdeveloped villages in preparing for the golden generation of 2045," Iskandar stated.
The minister urged the public to support the governors and district heads nationwide that have been striving to fight poverty and ignorance.
Iskandar said, the government, along with regional leaders, strives to eliminate poverty nationwide, especially in Banten Province.
