"The Industry Ministry is aware of the importance of the role of human resources in realizing strong and competitive industries as a pillar of development," BPSDMI head Masrokhan stated at the graduation ceremony of the APP Polytechnic here on Tuesday.
According to Masrokhan, schools and higher education institutions under the Ministry of Industry have ably demonstrated the quality of vocational education, as proven by the high employment rate of graduates with competency certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
"In 2023, the Ministry of Industry's schools and campuses graduated 5,673 people, with a rate of absorption at graduation of 87.34 percent for vocational schools and 74.04 percent for higher education," he explained.
He urged the Ministry of Industry's vocational education institutions to continue to encourage the absorption rate of school and campus graduates to reach 100 percent.
According to Masrokhan, the increase in the employment of graduates of schools and higher education institutions under the Ministry of Industry is also in line with the increase in registration and admission of students at those educational institutions.
"This year, the Ministry of Industry's schools and campuses experienced a 10-percent increase in student and new student admissions as compared to the previous year," Masrokhan pointed out.
"This is in line with the increasing public interest in sending their children to schools or campuses of the Ministry of Industry, which is shown by the large interest in applicants in 2023, which was up five percent from the previous year," he remarked.
He encouraged graduates of the ministry's vocational education institutions to improve their competence, knowledge, and mastery of technology to face complex challenges in future.
"We know Indonesia's vision in 2045 to become a golden Indonesia, with a target of (ranking among the) top five economies in the world, and this will be the responsibility of you all that are currently in the productive phase," he told the graduates.
