"We are utilizing the TKM Program to facilitate those keen to succeed in becoming informal or self-employed workers. This program covers all regions, from Sabang to Merauke,"Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government's Self-employed Workers (TKM) Program is open for everyone seeking to receive assistance in running businesses, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah has affirmed.
"I would like to invite everyone wishing to access this program to visit the Manpower Ministry's Bizhub system at kemnaker.go.id. People wished to access the program can form a group and apply for the program through the ministry's Bizhub," she said in a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.
According to the statement released by the Manpower Ministry, while participating in TKM Expo Festival 2023 in Jakarta on Saturday (December 9) evening, Fauziyah noted that expanding job opportunities for the people is among the duties of the Ministry of Manpower.
She said that the ministry is striving to facilitate the people to work and become independent business players as an effort to fulfill the duty.
"Through the TKM Program, we are assisting people to become entrepreneurs. We are also providing capital assistance once they gather in a group. Hopefully, they will be able to emerge as self-reliance entrepreneurs," she stated.
The minister further noted that, in general, the number of self-employed or informal workers in Indonesia does exceed that of formal workers. Bearing that in mind, the Manpower Ministry continues to invite informal workers to apply for assistance.
"We are utilizing the TKM Program to facilitate those keen to succeed in becoming informal or self-employed workers. This program covers all regions, from Sabang to Merauke," she emphasized.
Fauziyah then spoke of the TKM Program having been successful in helping people develop their businesses as well as empower other people.
The Manpower Ministry might continue providing assistance to the people even after their businesses flourish, she added.
"We are facilitating them (self-employed workers) to meet with buyers, investors, and banks, with the objective of encouraging them to further enhance their self-reliance. By doing so, we aim to enable them to empower other people," she said.
