In a statement received on Wednesday, OJK’s Chairperson of the Audit Board, Sophia Wattimena, stated that the enforcement of integrity and an anti-corruption culture are a model for the financial services industry in implementing good governance by supporting all efforts to prevent corruption.
“We are very serious in our effort to prevent corruption. We are also implementing an ISO-based anti-bribery management system (SMAP),” she noted.
“We encourage financial services industry actors can participate in the system so that the industry can grow healthily and with integrity,” she affirmed.
The statement was conveyed during the opening of the 2023 Integrity Expo held by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on December 11-12, 2023.
The 2023 Integrity Expo was held as commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) to support the ministries and government institutions’ roles and efforts to eradicate corruption.
The event was enlivened by 69 exhibitors in various zones: the KPK zone, institution zone, ministry zone, regional government zone, state-owned enterprises zone, association and profession zone, as well as the CSO, NGO, community, and educational institution zone.
Each stand offers introductions to anti-corruption programs and efforts to prevent corruption in each respective institution.
To draw interest and boost enthusiasm among the visitors, OJK’s stand presented activities through games, an award-board publication, and information about OJK’s integrity-strengthening program.
Visitors were requested to fill out an electronic form to convey their input and suggestions regarding OJK’s duties and functions.
Wattimena stated that the activity is a medium to disseminate OJK’s integrity-strengthening programs, such as the implementation of gratification control, OJK’s anti-bribery management system, and OJK’s whistle-blowing system (WBS OJK).
The OJK whistle-blowing system is a medium to submit, manage, and follow up on reports regarding suspected violations committed by OJK staff members.
To prove its commitment to strengthening its integrity, the OJK is actively participating in various anti-corruption programs.
The programs are the Integrity Building Expert certification program, awards for the best gratuity control system, awards for the best State Official Wealth Report management, and the 2022 Gratification Control Unit Award from the KPK.
