I want to say thank you to all of you that have been contributing to IndonesiaJakarta (ANTARA) - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin reported that grant commitment in Indonesia's health sector from various global partners in the 2021-2025 period is reaching Rp11.4 trillion (around US$735.65 million).
Sadikin conveyed the report while delivering his presentation at the Indonesia Health Partners Meeting in Bali on Monday.
"This is the first time I review personally what the figures are because I want to say thank you to all of you that have been contributing to Indonesia," he noted at the event followed online from Jakarta.
Sadikin expressed hope that the commitment would not only be fulfilled during the COVID-19 pandemic but also be continued until 2025.
In his presentation materials, the figures for grant commitment from several global partners were shown.
He reported the biggest grant was from the Global Fund, an international financing organization dedicated to collecting and distributing funds for AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria prevention programs. Grant commitment from the Global Fund makes up 42.1 percent of the total grant commitment.

The grant commitment from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) makes up 33.2 percent, while UNICEF's grant commitment constitutes 4.3 percent.
Furthermore, the grant commitment from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance makes up 3.9 percent of the total.
The Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) contributes 2.4 percent to the total commitment, while the WHO and the Japanese Government contribute two percent each.
Meanwhile, the rest is grant commitment from other partners.
Sadikin noted the funds support the health transformation plan in Indonesia that targets primary services, referral services, health resilience systems, health financing, health human resources, and health technology.
The largest use of the grant funds is for efforts to control tuberculosis in accordance with the pillar of transformation in primary care.
