Exports of mineral fuels made the highest contribution to East Kalimantan's total exports in that period, reaching 82.48 percent.
Samarinda (ANTARA) - East Kalimantan (Kaltim) province's non-oil and gas exports to ASEAN countries were recorded at 4.63 billion US dollars during January–November 2023.

"Kaltim's total non-oil and gas exports to a number of countries in the world amounted to US$22.26 billion, while specifically exports to ASEAN amounted to US$4.63 billion," the head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), East Kalimantan province, Yusniar Juliana, informed in Samarinda on Wednesday.

The province's non-oil and gas exports to the Philippines were valued at US$2.1 billion, Malaysia US$1.75 billion, Vietnam US$728.83 million, and other ASEAN countries US$1.01 billion.

The non-oil and gas commodities exported by East Kalimantan during the period comprised mineral fuels, inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, animal or vegetable fats and oils, several types of chemical products, wood and wood products, processed animal food, fish and other marine products.

Providing more details, Juliana said that East Kalimantan's total exports in January–November 2023 reached US$22.26 billion, with shipments to countries in ASEAN valued at US$4.63 billion, the European Union US$494.51 million, and a number of other export destination countries US$16.06 billion.

The non-oil and gas commodities exported included mineral fuel — the commodity with the highest export value because it contains coal — whose shipments reached US$18.35 billion.

"Exports of mineral fuels made the highest contribution to East Kalimantan's total exports in that period, reaching 82.48 percent," she informed.

They were followed by exports of animal/vegetable fats and oil commodities of US$2.78 billion, which accounted for 12.52 percent of the total exports.

"The third-largest (exports) were (of) inorganic chemicals, with a contribution of 1.76 percent, namely with a value of US$391.05 million," said Juliana.
