Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the realization of the infrastructure budget in the 2023 State Budget (APBN) had reached Rp455.8 trillion (around US$29.4 billion).

"The realization for the infrastructure budget is Rp455.8 trillion," she stated during a press conference on the 2023 State Budget Performance and Realization held in Jakarta on Tuesday (Jan 2).

The realization of the 2023 infrastructure budget increased by 22.2 percent compared to the Rp372.8 trillion (around US$2.44 billion) recorded during the corresponding period in the previous year.

The distribution of the infrastructure budget is allocated through the expenditure of various ministries and institutions for diverse construction projects, including those for public housing, irrigation networks, roads, and seaports.

Regions also receive direct allocations for critical infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, drainage, and clean water systems.

Further allocations went towards financing for the Trans-Sumatra toll road project and the construction of some 200,000 housing units.

"This ensures infrastructure equity, present in everything from clean water, roads, bridges, and irrigation, to toll roads, airports, and seaports," Indrawati stated.
