“Support from the Finance Minister will expedite our step to ease the public, especially in digital payment,” Minister Anas informed in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said that digital payments are a part of digital public infrastructure that has become the focus of the government's digitalization efforts. Thus, the Finance Ministry is not alone in its strategic initiative in the economic field.
Other institutions such as the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Agency are also taking part in this initiative.
This has paved the way for people to pay various kinds of taxes and Public Housing Savings (Tapera), among others, through a platform that has been integrated with many kinds of digital payments.
“Our medium-term targets are integrated service, meaningful access, and user-friendly technology,” he said.
Minister Indrawati will carry out the optimization of the payment gateway system, which will be linked to all government digital services. The optimization will aim to ease the payment system, which is connected to many kinds of financial services, domestically and internationally.
Four steps have been prepared to accelerate the government's digital transformation efforts. The first step is clubbing the services under one portal for the public and one portal for state apparatus.
The second step is accelerating the development of services and priority digital systems.
The third step is developing and strengthening Indonesia’s GovTech, and the fourth step is focusing on the ease of services.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Indrawati said that digital transformation will serve as a strong tool to reform the nation.
“Thus, people have no chance (other than transforming). This will change institutions and people,” she added.
