Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of National Development Planning highlighted the urgency of aligning central and regional development plans in a bid to carry out collaboration-oriented development.

The ministry's secretary, Teni Widuriyanti, made the statement at the Training of Trainers: Assistance in Aligning Provinces' Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) with the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045 in Depok on Tuesday (January 16).

"Alignment through joint assistance is the first integrated step to ensure the integration of documents that should be followed by development plans to obtain positive results and impacts for society," she said as quoted from a statement issued by her ministry here on Wednesday.

The Ministry of National Development Planning and the Ministry of Home Affairs have been tasked with disseminating, internalizing, and ensuring the implementation of RPJPN in regions.

This is in line with the Joint Decree of the National Development Planning Minister and Home Affairs Minister on the Alignment of RPJPD and RPJPN for 2025-2045 that was signed on January 10, 2024.

Moreover, it aligns with Home Affairs Ministry's Instruction Number 1 of 2024 on Guidelines for Creating RPJPD.

"The joint decree is a joint action to align the contents of the RPJPD with the RPJPN to create coherence and orchestrate the direction of national development," Deputy for Economy at the National Development Planning Ministry Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti noted in the same statement.

Tuesday's event involved 36 provinces' Regional Development Planning Agencies (Bappeda), with a total of 135 participants. The training was aimed at improving the provincial governments' capacity and quality of RPJPD creation in accordance with the direction and targets of the 2025-2045 RPJPN.

A special team will be formed after the training to serve as the main driving force in synchronizing the provinces' RPJPD and the RPJPN.

Director General of Regional Development Assistance at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Restuardy Daud, emphasized that the synchronization of the 2025-2045 RPJPN and RPJPD is an integral part of national development planning.

"In the implementation, regions use local wisdom, potentials, innovations, competitiveness, and creativity to reach development goals at the local level, which eventually will support the achievement of national goals," he remarked in the same statement.
