Bogor (ANTARA) - Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan invited President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to travel to Tanzania as tourist after he completed his term as the seventh President of Indonesia.

"After you retire, I hope you can travel to Tanzania as a tourist to visit our tourist attraction sites yourself," Hassan stated while giving remarks during her visit at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java on Thursday.

Hassan admitted to being pleased to welcome Jokowi in Tanzania, as a tourist, after retiring as president.

"I would be pleased to welcome you," she stated.

On that occasion, he was also grateful for the opportunity to enhance extraordinary relations for the progress of Indonesia and Tanzania.

"I want to thank you for the invitation to visit this beautiful country," she remarked.

As is known, Jokowi had visited Tanzania for the first time as president in August 2023.

Apart from Tanzania, Jokowi also visited Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa.

Tanzania has also opened its embassy in Jakarta as a commitment between the two countries to continue strengthening cooperation with Indonesia.

During the meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace, the two leaders discussed several collaborations to strengthen the relationship between their countries, including cooperation on trade, investment, and green energy sectors.

They also uniformed perception of supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people.
