Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana emphasized that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) recent intensive activities in Central Java aimed to ensure government programs were running effectively.

"Something similar is also true of the activities that the president has carried out in various places. Ensuring the people's basic needs are met and government programs run," Dwipayana clarified in a statement at the Ministry of State Secretariat building in Jakarta on Monday.

He made the statement in response to journalists' questions about the reasons behind Jokowi's intensive working visit to Central Java.

The president's activities in the province have given rise to the perception that he is keen to encourage vote acquisition for a certain pair of candidates for the upcoming presidential election.

Dwipayana stated that Jokowi's activities in Central Java were not related to the election, but to ensuring the implementation of government programs.

He confirmed that no campaign activities are currently planned.

"Not yet," Dwipayana remarked.
