President Jokowi explained that the rice food assistance will also be continued until June 2024.Bantul, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that the distribution of food assistance from the government rice reserve will be carried out again in February and March 2024.
"Ladies and gentlemen now have received the 10 kg (of rice). This will be given in January, February, and March," Jokowi said while greeting the assistance recipients during his working visit to the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) warehouse in Pajangan here on Tuesday.
The head of state then asked the beneficiary recipients whether they agreed to be given rice food assistance again next month.
"Agree or not? Those who do not agree please raise your hands. If any, please come forward, I will give you a bicycle," Jokowi said to which he received a positive response from the Bantul District residents, who took part in the distribution event.
President Jokowi explained that the rice food assistance will also be continued until June 2024.
After the June assistance is distributed, the government will calculate the state budget to decide whether assistance can continue to be provided.
"I will review our state budget (APBN), and if it is capable, then we will continue it," he stated.
On that occasion, President Jokowi also inquired about the El-Nino direct cash assistance (BLT) from some residents to which they confirmed to have not received the assistance.
"Yes, not all residents receive the El Nino cash assistance, but it will be given in February and March. Some people here might have received it," he remarked.
The president also ensured that the government rice reserve distributed to beneficiary communities is premium quality rice.
"The rice you received is not medium rice, but premium rice," he stated.
