“At present, we have received 350 letters of intent and are currently studying them,” he informed here on Friday.
The letters of intent will be studied thoroughly to ensure that all parties benefit mutually through the new capital's development, and the project proceeds smoothly as per the set timetable, the agency head said.
Smooth development progress and completion will also ensure that the new capital benefits the Indonesian nation by becoming a center of economic development and encouraging equitable economic development across the country, he affirmed.
Susantono noted that the total investment for the first phase of the new capital's development has reached Rp47.5 trillion (US$3.03 billion), of which Rp35.9 trillion (US$2.29 billion) has been contributed by the private sector and Rp8 trillion (US$500 million) via the state budget.
OIKN, he said, is optimistic that more investors will come forward to express their commitment to long-term investment in the new capital project this year. OIKN is targeting investment of Rp100 trillion (US$6.39 billion) from state-owned enterprises and the private sector by year-end, he added.
The authority head affirmed that the new capital's development would be pursued through meticulous planning through research and studies with experts in their relevant fields to seek the most appropriate method for urban development.
The planning is meant to ensure that Nusantara city’s urban concept is implemented properly and the city is livable for inhabitants.
“Nusantara city will be developed as a comfortable, habitable, and pleasant city for its people,” Susantono said.
