UP Rector Edie Toet Hendratno, who signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Enverga University, stated on Friday that Indonesia and the Philippines were like two old friends with close relations.
He expressed his belief that the collaboration was appropriate to strengthen their relations, especially in the fields of education, and arts and culture.
He said that the United Nations (UN) Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has become the global mainstream to be implemented by governments, institutions, and society, including universities.
The effort was realized by establishing strategic collaboration between Pancasila University and Enverga University, as detailed in the signed MoU.
The Vice President for Partnership and Global Engagement of Enverga University, Celso D. Jaballa, remarked that the two universities have several similarities in various fields, thereby making it conducive to strategic cooperation in line with the SDG agenda.
The signing of the MoU in Jakarta was followed by the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Tourism of Pancasila University and the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) of Enverga University.
The implementation of the cooperation agreement was also directly realized in a public lecture, themed "Philippines Tourism Outlook," delivered by visiting lecturer Dr. Jennifer Reyes from CIHTM Enverga University and attended by 150 students of Pancasila University.
