"We have a lot of supplies, such as chicken, eggs, rice, chili, onion, and garlic, in the traditional markets, like the Kangkung Market. There is no need to worry because the food will definitely be available during Ramadan," Hasan stated while reviewing the food prices.
He said that the government's efforts to realize food security in the market will continue to be carried out to maintain public consumption during Ramadan.
Hasan pointed out that food prices, such as garlic, shallots, and chili, had started to decline.
"The price of garlic is Rp36 thousand per kilogram, shallots are still cheap at around Rp30 thousand per kg, while the price of chili dropped to Rp58 thousand per kg," the minister stated.
He remarked that the government will continue to maintain the food supply and price stability in the market by collaborating with related parties ahead of Ramadan Month.
"The most important thing before Ramadan is that the goods are available in the market for public consumption," he noted.
Sutrisno, a market trader, said some commodities are available in the market.
"The current price of red chili is around Rp68 thousand per kg, while cayenne pepper is Rp70 thousand per kg, and garlic is Rp35 thousand per kg. Their availability is still quite a lot," Sutrisno stated.
He believed that food supplies in traditional markets were safe ahead of this year's Ramadan.
"The supplies are there and keep coming ahead of Ramadan," he remarked.
