Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration is offering a college scholarship program for outstanding transmigrant children.

"We open opportunities for sons and daughters of transmigrants who excel and have a strong will to continue their education to the Diploma-4 (D4) and S1 (bachelor) degrees through the Outstanding Student Selection in the Transmigration Area Program (PPSBKT)," secretary at the ministry's Directorate General of Development, Sigit Mustofa Nurudin, announced here on Monday.

The student selection for the program will involve several stages, including administrative selection and selection for prospective students applying for state universities (PTN), he informed.

The stages will also include independent selection for private university (PTS) applicants and culminate with the announcement of results.

Transmigrant children who are interested in obtaining the scholarship to study at the ministry's partner universities can register through the bit.ly/daftarPPSBKT2024 link or submit their application directly.

The application files can be sent to the PPSBKT Central Selection Team on TMP Kalibata Street No.17, South Jakarta 12750.

Nurudin said that the files can be sent online and offline, but no later than April 26, 2024.

"All supporting documents must be completed and uploaded to Siditrans at https://siditrans.kemendesa.go.id/ or sent to the specified address for further verification process," he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Abdul Halim Iskandar, earlier said that the program will make a real contribution to improving the quality of human resources in transmigration areas.

"The PPSBKT is the proof of our support in facilitating transmigrant children to continue their studies at colleges," he added.
