Mudikpedia, along with culinary maps, vehicle traffic monitoring, and information on Eid 2024 mudik services, can also be accessed via a dedicated website.
"This electronic book continues the work of the public communication team that has been carried out in previous years," said Usman Kansong, Director General of Information and Public Communication, in a Kominfo's statement on Wednesday.
"This is to provide guidance to people who are going home. All the information needed has been summarized in this booklet," he remarked.
The Ministry of Transportation stated that the number of people traveling during Eid 2024 could reach 193.6 million.
The government presents Mudikpedia to make it easier for residents keen on traveling before and after Eid al-Fitr 2024.
"The explanations in this electronic book are comprehensive," Kansong explained. "People can use it to determine, for example, the best time and route to take for their homecoming journey."
"The public can monitor locations that have the potential for congestion, rest areas, the nearest gas station, restaurants, and health posts," he stated.
Mudikpedia includes information regarding free mudik services, train and ship ticket reservations, weather forecast, and money exchange services, as well as information about toll roads and vehicle traffic monitoring.
"This book can also be used as reading material during your trip because it also contains information regarding the background, history, and various interesting things about homecoming traditions in Indonesia," Kansong stated.
He said that commuters, who travel using electric vehicles, will also be helped, as the electronic book provides information about the location of public electric vehicle charging stations.
Mudikpedia is provided to help residents plan a safe and comfortable homecoming trip by land, sea, or air.
