The master plan for cultural advancement is OIKN's action plan to promote and preserve culture as a direction for national development in Indonesia's future capital.
Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is collaborating with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to design a master plan for the cultural advancement of Nusantara city (IKN).

"We are currently in the process of preparing a master plan for the cultural advancement of Nusantara city," OIKN's director of culture, tourism, and creative economy, Muhsin Palinrungi, said in Penajam on Tuesday.

The planning for the cultural development of IKN is being carried out by the deputy for social, cultural, and community empowerment at OIKN in collaboration with BRIN, he informed.

In coordination with BRIN, researchers conducted research related to culture at IKN in 2023. The results of the research have been taken as inputs for the preparation of the master plan for the advancement of culture at IKN.

"The results of the research findings were integrated into the draft document for the master plan for the cultural advancement of Nusantara city," Palinrungi said.

According to him, a focus group discussion (FGD) was held as a first step to collect data from the research results, which will be integrated into the master plan document for IKN's cultural advancement.

"We have carried out phase one of the FGD at the BRIN Office on Monday (March 25)," he informed.

The FGD was joined by the director of culture, tourism, and creative economy at OIKN and the head of BRIN's Archaeological, Language, and Literature Research Organization.

It was also attended by head of the Research Center for Literary Manuscripts and Oral Traditions as well as a number of researchers from BRIN.

The next stage will involve getting additional inputs from various stakeholders, he said. To get the inputs, another discussion forum will be held in Balikpapan, he added.

Then, the team will carry out a field visit to dig up further information regarding culture in the Nusantara city area, Palinrungi said.

The master plan for cultural advancement is OIKN's action plan to promote and preserve culture as a direction for national development in Indonesia's future capital.
