Prabowo, in a press release from his ministry on Wednesday, stated that the meeting marked the end of his visit to China after he met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday and Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday.
At the meeting with Dong Jun, Prabowo proposed building closer cooperation in defense to further strengthen relations between Indonesia and China.
"Indonesia is willing to further strengthen defense cooperation with China and continue to promote the development of relations between the armed forces of the two countries," he remarked.
The defense cooperation includes joint combat training, technology exchange, and personnel development by carrying out officer exchange programs.
Dong Jun welcomed the security and defense cooperation plan with Indonesia and expressed hope that the cooperation would bolster bilateral relations between the two countries.
Earlier, during the meeting with Premier Li, Prabowo also expressed interest to improve cooperation between Indonesia and China, saying that both countries have mutually complementary ties.

He noted that Indonesia and China have succeeded in maintaining close cooperation relations, and the two countries are ready to start a new chapter to preserve the partnership.
Li also emphasized China's commitment to continuing to cooperate and maintaining mutual trust between Indonesia and China.
