Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) International Airport Police Station prepared a service post and other facilities to serve travelers during the Eid al-Fitr return flow period.

According to the airport police chief, senior commissioner Roberto Pasaribu, in a statement received here on Sunday, the facilities prepared include the service post at the Terminal 3, security posts in all terminals, and an integrated post at Terminal 1.

"At the service post, travelers can conduct free health check or take a short break," Pasaribu said.

There is also the Call Center 110 to anticipate illegal activities such as baggage and belongings being stolen.

He said that his side has prepared a strategy in order to smoothen return flow traffic from the airport to Jakarta and viva versa, along with the operation of the East Flyover at the Soetta Airport.

"Furthermore, the Soetta Airport Police also prepared a Command Center, the Mobile Integrated Police Service (SPKT), the Police Health and Medical Team and ambulance, and alerted 230 joint personnel from the military-police elements and stakeholders at the Soetta Airport," he said.

Pasaribu said the joint personnel consisted of 125 police personnel, 30 military personnel, 50 aviation security, 10 from the Port Health Office, 10 Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) and five K-9 or police dogs.

Based on the airport operator Angkasa Pura II data, the Soetta experienced a surge of outbound travelers from April 11-13, 2024.

On Thursday (April 11), the number of passengers at Soetta Airport reached 121,325 people, and it increased to 133,923 on Friday (April 12), 153,658 on Saturday (April 13), and predicted to reach 173,847 on Sunday.

"The peak of return flow at Soetta Airport is predicted to occur on Monday, April 15, 2024," he said.

Pasaribu asked travelers to always maintain their health and safety along with the increasing number of passengers.
