"Registration is open from today, April 16, until the next three weeks, or May 11," the ministry's director general of public information and communication, Usman Kansong, said during an online media briefing on Tuesday.
He noted that information on the registration procedure and the requirements for media, including foreign media, has been made available on the official website of the World Water Forum 2024.
To register, media outlets can visit the worldwaterforum.org page, then fill in their data and follow the registration instructions.
After registering, the media will receive a verification email and an official invitation. An invitation from the committee is a visa requirement for foreign media.
Kansong said that his ministry is also providing information and event documentation on the official website, including infographics, photos, and videos.
"In several venues or events, the coverage will be limited. Those who can cover it are only from the TV pool or photo pool. Thus, we provide the materials for the media in the media center," he added.
He said that the 10th World Water Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Bali from May 18 to 25, will feature several activities, such as an opening ceremony, high-level meetings, exhibition, political sessions, thematic sessions, field visits, and a closing ceremony.
The event will be held at Bali International Convention Center (BICC) and several other locations in Bali, and is projected to be attended by 30 thousand participants from 172 countries.
The forum will feature 290 sessions that will discuss crucial themes related to water, namely water security and prosperity; water for humans and nature; disaster risk reduction and management, governance, cooperation, and hydro diplomacy; sustainable water finance; and knowledge and innovation.
The forum is expected to produce solutions and new commitments to reach sustainable and fair water management.
