"We always see that (with) every change (of government), there is a new curriculum. The new cabinet then evaluates it," General Chair of PGRI Prof. Unifah Rosyidi said here on Sunday (April 28).
Rosyidi delivered the statement while opening the V Provincial Working Conference of PGRI Central Java for the XXII Period that took place at the Semarang PGRI University Hall.
According to the Jakarta State University (UNJ) professor, changing or replacing the education curriculum is actually not important.
"Hence, we think the change is not that important. The most important thing is how the curriculum can move teachers and students to develop themselves," he remarked while being accompanied by Chair of PGRI Central Java Dr. Muhdi.
He emphasized that changes to the education curriculum should be carried out on the basis of careful study.
Speaking in connection with the next new government, Rosyidi expressed hope that the next education minister would be someone who loves education and teachers.
He stated that PGRI would also give suggestions to the new government regarding the ideal criteria for an education minister.
"We are also discussing providing written suggestions. The PGRI study institute will do it," he said.
The Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) has declared Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as elected president and vice president respectively based on the results of the 2024 presidential election.
The term of office of President Joko Widodo and Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin will end on October 20, 2024. Jokowi has served two terms, with being paired with Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the first term.
